Moving furniture from Jeddah to Al Qunfudhah
Al Qunfudhah lies roughly 440 km south of Jeddah on the Jeddah to Jazan coastal road. A distance like that does not forgive quick packing or careless loading, so we plan it in writing and price it in writing.
Short answer: how a Jeddah to Al Qunfudhah move is priced
An intercity price has two separate parts and we show both. The first is the work: dismantling, assembly and packing, charged from the published list below, which is the same list we use inside Jeddah. The second is the journey itself, set once we know the volume, the vehicle needed, and whether the truck is dedicated to you or your load is shared with another going the same way. We do not quote a final figure over the phone before seeing photographs or doing a survey, because a number given without information is the number that changes on moving day.
The coastal road and what it means for your furniture
Specific to this destination.
The road from Jeddah to Al Qunfudhah is a long coastal route running south towards Jazan and passing through the Al Lith area. The length of it imposes three practical considerations. First, accumulated vibration over hundreds of kilometres is harder on furniture than any tight corner inside the city: a piece loaded carelessly may survive a cross-town move and arrive scratched or loose-jointed after four hundred kilometres. Second, coastal humidity is high along the whole route, and it reaches timber and upholstery whenever covering is poor or the load is exposed to open air. Third, the journey consumes a large part of the day each way, which is why Al Qunfudhah jobs are scheduled differently from a move inside Jeddah.
For this reason we strongly prefer a closed truck over an open one here, and the load is strapped to anchor points in the vehicle body rather than roped over cartons. Other destinations on the same axis have their own pages: Jeddah to Al Lith and Jeddah to Jazan.

Dedicated truck or shared load?
The choice that changes the price most, and the one few companies explain.
A dedicated truck
The vehicle is yours alone, loaded at your door and unloaded at your door with no stops. Fastest and most precise on timing, and the more expensive option because you pay for the journey both ways.
A shared load
Your furniture travels with another consignment heading the same way. Clearly cheaper, but the delivery becomes a window of days rather than a fixed date, and it needs stricter numbering and inventory.
When we recommend dedicated
When the volume is already large, when the date is tied to a handover or a start at work, or when the load includes valuable or fragile pieces.
When we recommend shared
For small and medium loads with no date pressure: one or two rooms of contents, a student move, or an employee relocating alone.
Inventory either way
A numbered, photographed list is handed to you before departure and checked with you at unloading. On a shared load that inventory is not a nicety, it is essential.
Heavy and unusual items
Pianos, steel safes and large marble tops are always priced on a dedicated trip. See piano and heavy item moving.
Packing for distance is not packing for across town
A substantive difference, not a cosmetic one.
- Every timber piece gets a blanket and then film, because a blanket alone slides off over a long run.
- Corners and legs are protected with reinforced cardboard angles, since they are the first things to rub against the truck wall under vibration.
- Boxes are filled to the brim before closing. A half-full box collapses under the weight above it after hours of road movement.
- Mirrors and glass travel upright in timber frames or between foam boards, never flat among soft furnishings.
- Drawers are emptied and secured shut. A drawer that opens in transit destroys its own front and the one next to it.
- Appliances go back in their original boxes where available; a washing machine in particular needs its drum secured before any long journey.
Materials are listed on packing materials.
The job from first contact to handover
What happens and when.
Survey or photographs
A free survey inside Jeddah, or detailed WhatsApp photos, which are enough for an initial estimate.
A written quote
Separating the journey from the handling work, and naming whether the trip is dedicated or shared.
Dismantling and packing day
Usually the day before travel or that morning, with a numbered photographic inventory.
Loading and strapping
Heavy low, light high, every layer strapped to anchor points in the vehicle body.
The journey
An early start on the coastal road, with a WhatsApp message on departure and on arrival.
Unloading and assembly
Unloaded by number, bedrooms and wardrobes rebuilt, inventory checked with you before the crew leaves.
Dismantling before and assembly after
A separate line with published prices.
| Dismantling and assembly job | Price range (SAR) |
|---|---|
| Complete bedroom set | 150 – 300 |
| Sliding wardrobe or IKEA wardrobe | 100 – 250 |
| Aluminium kitchen | 200 – 400 |
| Whole-flat dismantling and assembly package | 400 – 900 |
These figures apply to dismantling or assembly as a standalone service. On an intercity job, dismantling in Jeddah and assembly in Al Qunfudhah are combined into a single quote.
Storage before departure or after arrival
When vacating and receiving dates do not line up.
| Volume stored | Monthly rent (SAR) |
|---|---|
| One to two rooms of contents | 150 – 300 |
| A full flat | 250 – 450 |
| A villa | 400 – 800 |
Monthly storage includes basic wrapping and a photographed inventory at intake.
Many Al Qunfudhah moves follow a job transfer or a study placement, and those dates rarely align. If your Jeddah lease ends before the new home is ready, we collect the furniture wrapped, store it, and send it on the agreed date. See furniture storage in Jeddah.
What pushes the price up
Named in advance, not discovered later.
- Choosing a dedicated truck over a shared load: the single largest difference, and it is your choice rather than our decision.
- Upper floors without a lift at either end: extra crew or a winch, written in as its own line.
- Unusual items: a piano, a steel safe, a large marble table, or bulky outdoor structures.
- A fixed, immovable date: it forces a dedicated trip and narrows scheduling options.
- Full packing service: if you want us to pack everything rather than packing the small boxes yourself.
The questions we ask before quoting
Six answers that make the number accurate first time.
We ask how many rooms there are and how many seating pieces, and whether there is a majlis. We ask the floor in Jeddah and whether there is a lift, and the same about the address in Al Qunfudhah. We ask about large appliances, marble pieces or a piano. We ask the vacating date, the receiving date, and how much flexibility sits between them. Finally we ask whether you want us to pack everything or whether you will handle the small boxes. That is the real value of a free survey: a price that does not move.
Jeddah to Al Qunfudhah questions
What customers on this route actually ask.
Roughly 440 km south on the Jeddah to Jazan coastal road, passing the Al Lith area. That distance is why packing and loading differ from a move inside the city.
In two parts: dismantling, assembly and packing from the published list, plus the journey, which is set once we know the volume, the vehicle and whether the trip is dedicated or shared. The total is given in writing before work starts.
A dedicated truck is yours alone with a precise date and a higher price. A shared load travels with another consignment at a lower price and a delivery window of days. We tell you honestly which suits your volume and timing.
Yes, and we strongly prefer it on this distance because of coastal humidity, dust and sustained vibration. The load is strapped to anchor points, never roped over cartons.
Yes, a numbered photographic list handed over before departure and checked with you at unloading. On a shared load it is essential rather than optional.
Yes, and that is the normal arrangement. Both are combined into one quote rather than charged as two separate jobs.
Always priced on a dedicated trip, with a specific loading arrangement. It is explained in the quote before you agree.
Yes, a common request on job relocations. Monthly storage starts at SAR 150 for one to two rooms of contents, and we dispatch on the agreed date.
Send WhatsApp photos of every room, the majlis and the kitchen, and tell us the floor and lift situation at both ends. That is enough for an estimate very close to the final figure.
Yes, with the same logic: a fixed part for handling and a part for the journey, sometimes at a better rate if it coincides with a return trip.
