Furniture movers in Al Rawabi, Jeddah
Al Rawabi is a south Jeddah district of mid-rise apartment buildings, and the work we are asked for here looks different from the north of the city. A large share of it is small: a one or two bedroom flat, a handful of individual pieces, or a move between two buildings a few streets apart. Small moves are the ones most often priced badly and executed worse. This page explains how we price and run them, in SAR, and what you can do yourself to bring the bill down without risking your furniture.
What is different about moving in Al Rawabi
A south Jeddah apartment district where demand skews small.
Most enquiries from Al Rawabi are not full villa relocations. They are a studio or a two-bedroom flat, or a short list of items — a bedroom set, a fridge and a washing machine, a majlis. This kind of job tends to be mishandled from both sides: residents assume it is trivial, and some companies either refuse it or price it as though it were a whole apartment.
We price it for what it is. One or two pieces inside Jeddah runs SAR 80 to 250, a studio or single room SAR 350 to 600, and both include loading, unloading and reassembly. There is no artificial minimum charge that turns a two-item move into an apartment bill.
- One or two items: a pickup or small van with a two-person crew.
- A one-room flat: a closed truck, three crew, dismantling and reassembly included.
- A two-bedroom flat: a closed truck and a full crew, usually half a working day.
The pickup service and its rates are on the pickup furniture moving page.
Small moves done properly, not done briefly
A short job is not a long job with the care removed.
A small move has its own logic. There are few pieces but they are often the heavy or fragile ones: a double-door fridge, an automatic washing machine, a three-door wardrobe, a sectional majlis. The drive is short, but getting in and out of two buildings consumes most of the day.
So we run small jobs on three rules: one fixed arrival time rather than an open window, a crew that does not change halfway through, and proper wrapping on fragile pieces even when the journey is ten minutes.
A bedroom only
Dismantled, moved and rebuilt the same day, with a labelled fittings bag tied to each piece.
A single large appliance
Secured correctly before lifting, and a fridge moved upright, never on its side.
A sofa or majlis
Film then fabric, because upholstery picks up dirt from a single brush against a wall.
If you need pieces dismantled and rebuilt without any transport, that is a standalone service on the disassembly and assembly page.
Moving between two buildings in the district
The shortest distance, the most frequent mistakes.
Moving within Al Rawabi itself is common, usually at renewal time or when a household takes a larger flat in the next building. The recurring error is doing it in instalments with a private car over several evenings.
Two slots in one day
A vacate time and a handover time, so nothing waits in the truck or on the pavement.
Finish each room before starting the next
Otherwise fittings and parts get mixed between rooms.
One load where possible
Repeated short trips are what consumes the whole day.
Build as it arrives
The new flat finishes room by room instead of all at once at dusk.

Prices in SAR
The standard Jeddah list, read from the smaller rows.
The district does not change the price. What changes it is which row of the table your job sits in, the floor, and whether there is a working lift.
| Move size | Estimated price (SAR) | What it covers |
|---|---|---|
| Pickup / single items | 80 – 250 | One or two pieces inside Jeddah, loading and unloading |
| Studio or single room | 350 – 600 | Dismantling, packing, loading, transport, reassembly |
| Two-bedroom flat | 500 – 900 | Full crew with a closed truck |
| Three-bedroom flat | 800 – 1,400 | Larger crew and extended packing |
| Four to five bedrooms | 1,200 – 1,900 | Sometimes two days depending on floors |
| Small villa | 1,500 – 2,500 | More than one truck and an extended crew |
| Large villa | 2,500 – 4,000 | Scheduled over two days with full packing |
Prices are estimates and are fixed after a free survey. The agreed figure is written down before work starts and does not change afterwards.
An upper floor without a lift carries a sensible extra, driven by crew size rather than by the height itself — explained on the no-lift moving page.
If the budget is genuinely tight
Real ways to cut the bill that do not cut the standard.
There is a difference between lowering the price and lowering the service. The first is legitimate; the second ends in damaged furniture. These are the reductions we actually recommend.
- Sort before you move. Anything unused for a year is paid transport for nothing — removing it cuts both load and price.
- Pack your own clothes and books into ready cartons before the crew arrives, and leave glass, appliances and furniture to us.
- Avoid the end of the month. A quieter day means a faster job and better scheduling.
- Take one trip rather than spreading the move over two days.
How to pack correctly yourself is set out on the packing guide. What we advise against doing yourself is anything that needs dismantling or lifting.
Three things never to move yourself
Each one costs far more to replace than you saved.
The fridge
Tilting or laying it flat damages the compressor — the correct method is on the fridge guide.
The washing machine
Without securing the drum the internal suspension is destroyed; see the washing machine guide.
Glass and mirrors
Carried upright, foam-edged and double-boarded. Laid flat they break even without impact.
Add one more: a sliding wardrobe is never moved assembled. The frame twists under its own weight the moment it is tilted.
Monthly storage for short tenancies
A practical answer between contracts or during long travel.
In a district with a high share of short tenancies, storage comes up constantly: long summer travel, a contract ending before the next flat is available, a posting outside Jeddah with a return date.
Our storage is monthly, and transport to and from the warehouse is quoted as a visible line rather than buried. Furniture stays wrapped for the whole period instead of being packed and unpacked twice.
- One to two rooms: SAR 150 to 300 per month.
- A full apartment: SAR 250 to 450 per month.
- A villa: SAR 400 to 800 per month.
Preparation is covered on the preparing for storage page, and rates on the storage prices page.
Mid-rise buildings: one lift, one entrance
Four to six floors has its own rules.
A four to six storey block is the dominant type here, halfway between a tower and a two-storey house. There is usually a single lift, a comparatively narrow stair, and one entrance shared by several flats. Block any one of the three and the whole job stops.
We manage it with a simple order of work: the lift is held for short, counted periods rather than tied up for an hour, and one crew member keeps the entrance clear so pieces do not pile up outside a neighbours door.
- Large pieces go first, while the crew is fresh and the lift is free.
- Small cartons go last because they are the quickest to shift.
- A clear walking width is kept on the stair and in the entrance at all times.
- The start time is agreed with the building caretaker a day ahead.
It reads like housekeeping. It is the reason a two-bedroom flat finishes before noon rather than late afternoon.
Getting an accurate quote the same day
Three steps, no visit required.
One wide photo per room
A wide shot is enough; close-ups of individual pieces are not needed.
State the floor and the lift at both ends
After volume, this is the single biggest factor in the price.
Send it on WhatsApp with your preferred date
A written quote comes back the same day and holds unless the volume changes.
An on-site survey is also free for anyone who prefers one, with no fee and no obligation. For background on what sits inside an apartment price, see the apartment moving page.
