Farm and rest house movers in Jeddah
A rest house or a farm is not a home on a numbered street. The road may turn to dirt at the end, the gate may not take a truck, and the contents are used for one season and stored for another. Wathab plans the job starting from the road rather than the furniture, with a written price before work begins.
Why these jobs differ from house moves
On a move inside the city the variables are known: a surfaced street, a defined floor, stairs or a lift. On farms and rest houses the rules change. The property usually sits outside or on the edge of the built-up area, the last kilometres can turn into an unmade track, and the map pin may point to a nearby junction rather than to the gate itself.
The second difference is the nature of the contents. A rest house combines ordinary domestic furniture with something else entirely: large floor majlis seating, bedding and rugs, hospitality items in quantity, and sometimes near-commercial kitchen equipment. The proportions are nothing like a family home, which changes both the loading method and the number of cartons needed.
The third is seasonal use. Many of these properties are used for a few months and closed for the rest of the year, which opens a different service pattern altogether: move out, store, and bring back, rather than a single permanent relocation.
The road first: what we need before fixing a date
The information that prevents a wasted day
What ruins a move to a property outside the city is rarely the distance. It is a surprise in the last five hundred metres. We ask about all of the following before any date is set:
The state of the final stretch
Surfaced or unmade? Will it carry a loaded truck or only light vehicles? This sets the vehicle, not just the timing.
Gate width and turning space
Width and height of the gate and room to turn inside the wall. A truck that gets in but cannot get out is a worse problem than one that cannot get in.
An alternative standing point
If the truck cannot reach the gate, where is the nearest place it can stand? The distance from there counts as part of the work.
Someone on site
Who opens the gate and receives the load? A truck waiting outside a locked property in a remote place is a real cost to both sides.
Seasonal moves: out, stored and back
This is the pattern that most distinguishes rest house work, and it has no equivalent in house moving. Instead of leaving contents in a closed property for months, exposed to dust, heat and swings in use, they are moved out, stored and brought back.
End-of-season inventory
A photographed list of everything leaving, with decisions on what stays at the property and what is disposed of because it is past use.
Packed for storage, not transport
Wrapping that protects against dust and humidity over a long period, which is different from wrapping for a short trip.
Move and store
Contents enter the warehouse against a numbered list, grouped by the space they came from so the return is straightforward.
Return before the season
Contents are brought back, placed and arranged before use begins, using the same list with no re-inventory from scratch.
The real benefit is that it adds years to the life of bedding and majlis seating, because most of their deterioration happens during the closed months rather than during use.
Indicative prices by load size
Published rates; the final figure is written after a survey
| Load size | Indicative price |
|---|---|
| Pickup load (small van) | 80 – 250 |
| Studio / single room | 350 – 600 |
| Two-bedroom apartment | 500 – 900 |
| Three-bedroom apartment | 800 – 1,400 |
| Four to five bedrooms | 1,200 – 1,900 |
| Small villa | 1,500 – 2,500 |
| Large villa | 2,500 – 4,000 |
A farm or rest house is priced by its equivalent residential volume. Difficult access and the need to shuttle with a smaller vehicle are assessed during the survey and shown in the written price before work begins.
Majlis seating, bedding and hospitality items
These make up the bulk of a rest house load and are the most frequently damaged, because people assume fabric cannot break and move it loose.
- Bedding and floor seating are folded and packed in closed bags rather than thrown in loose, since dust works into the weave and is very hard to remove later.
- Cushions and backrests are bundled in equal numbers and labelled — they are what goes missing between seasons.
- Serving dishes, trays and large cookware are wrapped by type and packed in rigid cartons.
- Rugs are rolled on a tube rather than folded into sharp creases, which leave permanent marks.
- Metal frames from outdoor seating are kept apart from fabric inside the truck to prevent scratching and rust.
Dismantling and assembly on site
| Work | Price |
|---|---|
| Full bedroom set | 150 – 300 |
| Sliding or IKEA wardrobe | 100 – 250 |
| Aluminium kitchen | 200 – 400 |
| Whole-apartment package | 400 – 900 |
Assembly is done during the same visit, because returning later to a remote property to finish a fitting is a cost to both sides.
That means sending a crew of the right size from the start rather than adding hands later, and it is why we insist on an accurate survey before quoting a remote job.
Storage between seasons
| Load size | Per month |
|---|---|
| One to two rooms | 150 – 300 |
| Full apartment | 250 – 450 |
| Villa-sized load | 400 – 800 |
Contents stay wrapped and numbered and any part of them can be collected at any time without disturbing the rest.
Out-of-season storage is less an added cost than insurance on the contents: a property closed for months is a harsh environment for furniture, and a proper warehouse is considerably kinder.
Setting out the property on arrival
Unloading into a large open property looks easier than unloading into a flat, and that is a trap. The space tempts a crew to set everything down at the nearest point, and then the real work begins: moving every item a second time.
- Fix the position of each group before unloading starts: majlis, bedrooms, kitchen, store.
- Unload directly to the final position rather than into the yard for redistribution later.
- Group numbered cartons by the space they belong to instead of stacking them in one pile.
- Keep a clear working route so what is already unloaded does not obstruct what is still on the truck.
- Remove packing waste before leaving — on an open site it scatters and becomes a larger problem.

Frequently asked questions about farm and rest house moves
Yes, provided you tell us what the final stretch of road is like — surfaced or unmade, and whether it is wide enough for a large truck to turn. That determines the vehicle before it determines the date.
It is priced by volume: a two-bedroom equivalent load is SAR 500 to 900, three bedrooms SAR 800 to 1,400, and larger properties from SAR 1,500 to 2,500 upward, with the final figure written after a free survey.
Yes, and it is a common request. We move the contents into storage at the end of the season and return them before the next one, working from a single inventory across both trips.
Metal seating and canopies are dismantled, wrapped and moved within the same job. Steel pieces are protected from rubbing, since a scratch in the coating is where rust starts.
We move furniture, household contents, majlis seating and domestic items. Heavy agricultural machinery needs specialist carriers, and we say so during the survey.
It depends on distance, volume and the state of the road, and it is set out in the written quotation. We do not promise a single day before a survey.
Yes. A bedroom set is SAR 150 to 300, a sliding or IKEA wardrobe SAR 100 to 250 and an aluminium kitchen SAR 200 to 400.
We shuttle with a smaller vehicle from the nearest standing point to the property. That is assessed during the survey and shown in the written price before work starts.
Yes. SAR 150 to 300 a month for one or two rooms, SAR 250 to 450 for an apartment-sized load and SAR 400 to 800 for larger.
Surveys are free within Jeddah. For remote properties we can survey by video over WhatsApp and then fix the price before work begins.
