Food premises relocation

Bakery and patisserie movers in Jeddah

An oven, a spiral mixer and a display chiller are not furniture. They are heavy equipment wired to gas, power and drainage. We move bakeries and patisseries with safe disconnection, a measured exit route and an overnight schedule that keeps closed days to a minimum.

Short answer: how a bakery or patisserie is moved

A bakery move differs from any other commercial move for two reasons: the weight of the equipment, and its connection to gas, power and drainage, none of which tolerates haste. Our plan starts with safe disconnection of each unit and photographic documentation of its condition, then removal along a route measured in advance, because an oven cannot be turned in a narrow corridor. At the new premises the heavy equipment goes into its final position before any other furniture. Final gas and electrical connection at the new site is carried out by your own licensed technician; we deliver each unit in place and ready for connection. Pricing follows a free survey and is issued in writing.

The equipment we move

A realistic list from Jeddah premises.

  • Electric and gas ovens, stone ovens and multi-deck ovens.
  • Spiral and planetary mixers, dough dividers and sheeters.
  • Proofing cabinets, dough retarders and small modular cold rooms.
  • Glass display chillers, patisserie cabinets and drinks coolers.
  • Stainless steel work tables, sinks, metal shelving and tray trolleys.
  • Coffee machines, grinders, cream whippers and decorating equipment.
  • Front-of-house: tables, chairs, the order counter and point-of-sale terminals.

Safe disconnection first

The step most often rushed, and the one that causes most damage.

1

Gas before anything else

The main valve is closed, the gas line is disconnected from each unit and its end capped. No gas appliance is moved before the supply is confirmed off, and we carry out no gas connection at the new site.

2

Power and breakers

Equipment is isolated at the breaker, not merely unplugged, and cables are coiled and taped to the body of the unit rather than left trailing under the wheels.

3

Water and drainage

Sink hoses are disconnected and pipework serving chillers and mixers is drained, with enough time allowed for it to clear before loading.

4

Emptying oils and flour

Mixers are cleaned and their bowls emptied; ovens are cleared of trays and internal racks, which travel separately and numbered.

5

Securing moving parts

Oven and chiller doors are taped shut, internal shelves removed, and castors locked or lifted according to the unit.

6

Photographic condition record

Every unit is photographed from each side before disconnection and again on arrival. That record is the reference for both sides if a scratch or dent is disputed.

The exit route: why we measure before we lift

An oven cannot be turned in a corridor.

The biggest cause of delay on a bakery move is not the weight of the oven; it is the width of the door. A multi-deck oven, a large mixer and a long display chiller are rigid objects that neither fold nor dismantle: either they pass or they do not. So at survey we measure the shop door, the narrowest point on the route, the entrance height, the radius of any turn, and the mall service door, goods lift and its load limit.

If a piece will not pass, the options are put on the table before moving day rather than during it: temporarily removing the shop door or its frame, using another entrance, or lifting through a different opening with suitable equipment. See lifting by winch and heavy item moving.

Stock and food materials

Clear limits we keep to.

We are a moving company, not a refrigeration company, so we state a plain rule: chilled and frozen stock remains your responsibility to arrange and transport, and we recommend running it down or moving it in suitable refrigerated transport before the day. Dry goods such as sacks of flour and sugar and packaged materials we move on pallets or in closed boxes, kept away from cleaning products and oils.

Cleanliness is part of the job: stainless tables and food-contact surfaces are covered with clean sheeting before loading, never placed directly on the truck floor, and we do not use the same blankets that carry household furniture to cover food preparation surfaces.

Prices for moving, dismantling and installation

The published list is the basis.

Move sizePrice range (SAR)What the price covers

How the moving night is sequenced

An order that minimises closed days.

1

The day before closing

Chilled stock run down, equipment cleaned, ovens and mixers emptied.

2

After closing: disconnection

Gas, then power, then water, in that exact order, with photographic documentation.

3

Mid-night: front of house first

Dining furniture, the counter and light cabinets move out to clear the route for the heavy equipment.

4

Late: the heavy equipment

Oven, mixer and chillers along the measured route, with a full crew and lifting gear where needed.

5

At the new premises

Heavy equipment goes to its final position before any other furniture, because moving it later is close to impossible.

6

Handover

Each unit levelled and secured, condition photographed, and the premises handed over ready for your licensed technician to connect gas and power.

Display chillers and refrigeration

The most delicate equipment after the oven.

  • Always moved upright and never tilted, because tilting pushes compressor oil into the circuit.
  • Left standing for an adequate period after arrival before being switched on, a step many skip and then lose compressors to.
  • Curved glass in patisserie cabinets is wrapped individually and corner-protected; it is the most expensive and hardest part to replace.
  • Internal shelves and drawers are removed, numbered and moved separately rather than inside the unit.
  • Doors are taped shut with tape that does not touch the rubber seal directly, so it does not deform.

Storage between premises

When the new unit is delayed.

Volume storedMonthly rent (SAR)
One to two rooms of contents150 – 300
A full flat250 – 450
A villa400 – 800

Monthly storage includes basic wrapping and a photographed inventory at intake.

Fitting out a new unit can slip because of finishing work or licensing. We store front-of-house furniture, shelving and non-sensitive equipment, numbered and inventoried. For refrigeration we advise arranging appropriate storage and we set out the limits of our responsibility in writing. See corporate furniture storage.

Why heavy equipment goes in first

A simple rule that saves a whole day.

The costliest mistake on a bakery move is bringing dining furniture and shelving in first and then trying to get the oven and mixer past them. Heavy equipment needs a clear full-width route and turning space at its final position, and moving it after the premises are full means taking back out what was just brought in. So the schedule fixes a rule: the position of every heavy unit is agreed on a plan before the moving night, equipment enters in order from the furthest point from the door to the nearest, and no front-of-house furniture enters until the last unit is settled.

What we need for an accurate quote

Six items.

  • An equipment list with names and counts, and a photo of every heavy unit.
  • The shop door width and the narrowest point on the exit route, or photos good enough to measure at survey.
  • Whether the premises are inside a mall, and the loading conditions, service door and goods lift.
  • The floor at both addresses and whether there is a lift or a ramp.
  • The closing date and the target opening date, and the flexibility between them.
  • Whether your own licensed technician will handle gas and power connection at the new site.

Bakery and patisserie moving questions

What owners in Jeddah ask before booking.

We close the main valve, disconnect the line from the unit and cap it before anything is moved. Final connection at the new site is carried out by your own licensed technician; we deliver each unit in place and ready.

We measure the door and the narrowest point on the route at survey, before moving day, and put the options forward in advance: temporarily removing the door or frame, an alternative entrance, or lifting through another opening with suitable equipment.

No, and we say so plainly. We are a moving company, not a refrigeration company. We recommend running stock down or moving it in suitable refrigerated transport. Dry and packaged goods we move under clear cleanliness conditions.

Yes. Stainless tables and food-contact surfaces are covered with clean sheeting, never placed directly on the truck floor, and we do not use household furniture blankets on them.

Yes, and it is usually the right choice because it minimises closed days, and because most malls permit loading only after the shops close.

It depends on the number of heavy units and how ready the new premises are. The target is always one moving night plus a day for your technician to connect gas and power, but the exact schedule is written after the survey.
