Van Moving Services in Al Rayyan, Jeddah
A single van run inside Al Rayyan starts at SAR 80 for one or two items. This page explains when a van is the cheaper choice, when it is not, and exactly how the figure is reached before anyone turns up at your door.
What a van run in Al Rayyan actually costs
An estimate now, a written figure after the free survey.
One or two items moved inside Al Rayyan are estimated at SAR 80 to 250, loading and unloading included. A single room of furniture runs SAR 350 to 600, and a two-bedroom flat SAR 500 to 900. What moves you up or down inside those bands is not guesswork: the floor you live on, whether the lift takes a bed frame, how far the van can park from the entrance, and how many pieces have to come apart before they go down.
You can start with photographs on WhatsApp rather than an appointment. Send a picture of each room and tell us the floor number, and a written, itemised figure comes back. Nothing is charged for the survey, and the number does not move once it is agreed. The city-wide bands are set out on our furniture moving prices page.
| Move size | Estimated price (SAR) | What it covers |
|---|---|---|
| Pickup / single items | 80 – 250 | One or two pieces inside Jeddah, loading and unloading |
| Studio or single room | 350 – 600 | Dismantling, packing, loading, transport, reassembly |
| Two-bedroom flat | 500 – 900 | Full crew with a closed truck |
| Three-bedroom flat | 800 – 1,400 | Larger crew and extended packing |
| Four to five bedrooms | 1,200 – 1,900 | Sometimes two days depending on floors |
| Small villa | 1,500 – 2,500 | More than one truck and an extended crew |
| Large villa | 2,500 – 4,000 | Scheduled over two days with full packing |
Prices are estimates and are fixed after a free survey. The agreed figure is written down before work starts and does not change afterwards.
When a van is the right call, and when it quietly costs you more
A van wins when everything fits in one trip. It stops winning the moment a second or third trip is needed, because two van runs plus the waiting time between them usually costs more than one larger closed truck booked from the start. That is the single most common way people in Jeddah overpay for a small move.
Single items
A fridge, a washing machine, a split unit, one sofa, a dining table. A van is genuinely the cheapest option here.
One room
Bed, wardrobe, dresser and boxes. One trip is usually enough from a low floor.
Two bedrooms
Book a closed truck or a large van with a full crew instead of repeating small runs.
Fragile loads
Large screens, glass, mirrors and anything you would not put in the back of an open vehicle.
The trade-offs between the two vehicle types are set out in full on dyna versus closed truck.
Open van, closed van, or a van with a hoist
- Open van (dyna): fastest to load and cheapest, suited to sturdy pieces on short hops inside the district.
- Closed van: a sealed body that keeps dust and direct sun off fabric and veneer. The default for anything you care about.
- Van with an external hoist: used when a piece clears neither the stairwell nor the lift, and the window or balcony allows a lift from outside.
The vehicle is chosen during the survey, not on the morning of the move. Swapping vehicle type on the day means a delay and a cost that could have been avoided with one question beforehand. Driver contact details are listed on our dyna numbers page.
Al Rayyan has three housing types on the same street
Al Rayyan sits in north-east Jeddah and mixes standalone villas, apartment blocks and units inside gated residential compounds, often within a few hundred metres of each other. Two jobs on the same street can therefore need completely different arrangements: one where the van parks at the door, and one where entry time and parking have to be cleared with a security gate in advance.
For residents moving into Jeddah from abroad this matters more than it sounds. Compound management in Jeddah commonly asks for the vehicle details and crew names before the gate opens, and a crew that arrives without that clearance waits outside on your time. Tell us the unit is inside a compound when you book and the paperwork is handled before the day. The wider district service is described on furniture moving in Al Rayyan.
One-piece jobs, priced as one piece
A large share of Al Rayyan requests are not house moves at all. A fridge bought from a showroom. A child's bedroom coming over from family. A sofa going out. A desk moving between two floors of the same villa. Charging a full move rate for any of these is simply overcharging, so they are priced as single items inside the SAR 80 to 250 band according to weight and floor.
The working rule is straightforward: if two people can finish the job in one trip inside roughly two hours, it is a single-item job and not a move. If a bed or wardrobe has to be taken apart first, the carpentry is added from the table further down and the transport stays at its own rate.
How the figure is built, step by step
Photos or a survey
Send room photos and the floor number on WhatsApp, or we come out to Al Rayyan at no charge, usually the same day.
Trip count
We measure what you have against what the van holds and say plainly whether one trip covers it.
Carpentry priced separately
Dismantling is its own line, so the carpenter never hides inside the vehicle price.
The quote in writing
An itemised list and a total reach you before you commit, and the total does not change afterwards.
Execution and handover
Wrap, load, drive, reassemble, then check every piece with you before the crew leaves.
Anything that appears mid-job and was not visible in the photographs — a hoist that turns out to be unavoidable, for instance — is quoted to you before it is done, never afterwards.
What the van price includes, and what it does not
The quoted van price covers the vehicle, the driver, the loading and unloading crew, and the distance inside Jeddah. Three things sit outside it and are priced individually: carpentry, packing materials if you want us to supply them rather than buying your own, and an external hoist where a piece cannot come down inside the building.
That separation is deliberate. Rolling everything into one number would mean a customer with no wardrobes paying for a carpenter they never used. Each line can be removed before you agree. Materials are listed on our packing materials page.
Dismantling and reassembly alongside the van
Bedroom sets, sliding wardrobes and fitted kitchens are the pieces that need a carpenter. Adding one to a small van run raises the bill, but it costs far less than forcing an assembled wardrobe down a staircase, which is the leading cause of damage on cut-price moves.
| Item | Estimated price (SAR) |
|---|---|
| Bedroom dismantling and reassembly | 150 – 300 |
| Sliding or IKEA wardrobe | 100 – 250 |
| Aluminium kitchen | 200 – 400 |
| Whole-flat package | 400 – 900 |
The package covers dismantling and reassembly only; transport is priced separately using the table above.

Packing for an open load
Anything riding in a van takes more road vibration and more piece-on-piece contact than a tightly packed closed truck. So loading is preceded by blankets or stretch film over timber surfaces, corner guards on tables and wardrobes, and bubble wrap on glass, mirrors and screens. Heavy items then sit on the floor of the load bed with lighter ones above, never the reverse.
- Appliances are emptied and dried first, and washing machine transit bolts refitted where they exist.
- Mirrors and glass travel upright and braced, never flat.
- Drawers are emptied; loaded drawers break their own runners on the first speed bump.
- Cartons are labelled by room so they land where they belong instead of stacking up in the hall.
If the new place is not ready yet
Leases rarely line up neatly. When the old flat has to be handed back before the new one is available, the van goes to the warehouse instead of a friend's spare room, the contents are stored by the month, and a second run delivers them when you are ready. Storage runs on a written agreement and warehouse visits are by appointment.
| Stored volume | Monthly rent (SAR) |
|---|---|
| One to two rooms | 150 – 300 |
| A full flat of furniture | 250 – 450 |
| A villa of furniture | 400 – 800 |
Storage is billed monthly under a written agreement, and warehouse access is by appointment.

Frequently asked questions
Single items are SAR 80 to 250, one room of furniture SAR 350 to 600, and a two-bedroom flat SAR 500 to 900. The final figure is written down after a free survey.
Rarely in a single trip. A two-bedroom flat is better served by a closed truck or a large van with a full crew, because splitting it over two or three runs costs more in both money and time.
Both. A closed body is the default for anything affected by dust or direct sun; an open van is faster and cheaper for sturdy pieces moving a short distance.
Yes. It is charged as a single item within the SAR 80 to 250 band by weight and floor, not as a full move.
Tell us when you book. Vehicle details and crew names are sent to the gate in advance so the crew is not left waiting outside on your time.
No. It is a separate, published line: a bedroom set SAR 150 to 300, a sliding wardrobe SAR 100 to 250, an aluminium kitchen SAR 200 to 400.
An external hoist is used where the window or balcony allows it, and the extra cost is quoted to you before the work rather than added afterwards.
Yes, with no obligation. For a small job, photographs on WhatsApp are enough and no visit is needed.
Usually yes for small jobs inside the district, subject to the day's schedule. Send photographs first and you will get a time and a price back.
Bookings, quotes and scheduling are handled in English on WhatsApp, and the written quote is issued in English on request. For the same service in a northern villa district see van moving in Al Mohammadiyah.
