Veterinary Clinic Relocation in Jeddah
Examination tables, calibrated equipment, kennels and medicine refrigerators, moved on a schedule that protects the cold chain, with a written price.
What makes a veterinary clinic a special case
Three classes of contents that rarely sit together anywhere else.
A veterinary clinic combines things that usually do not share a building: office furniture at reception, precise medical equipment in consulting rooms, kennels and drainage in the boarding area, and refrigerators holding medicines and vaccines with temperature requirements.
Each of those four needs a completely different approach to packing, sequencing and priority. Treating them as one load is the mistake that either damages equipment or spoils medicines.
We also state one boundary clearly from the outset: our service is moving furniture, equipment and contents. We do not transport the animals themselves. Arranging their relocation is the clinic's responsibility and is carried out by dedicated means, entirely separate from a furniture truck.
That separation is not administrative caution but an operational requirement: a truck loaded with furniture is not a suitable environment for a living animal, and the two cannot be combined under any arrangement.
- Four classes of contents with different requirements in one premises
- Each class has its own packing and its own priority
- We move furniture and equipment, not animals
- The two loads are never combined, without exception
Medicine refrigerators and the cold chain
By some distance the most sensitive part of this service.
Refrigerated medicines and vaccines lose potency if they leave their temperature range for long enough, and the loss is not in the refrigerator but in its contents, which can be worth more than the clinic's entire furniture.
So we follow a strict order. Refrigerator contents are never moved inside the refrigerator. They are transferred immediately before the move into cool boxes supplied by the clinic, which remains responsible for monitoring their temperature, because responsibility for a pharmaceutical cold chain sits with the medical party and not with a moving company.
The refrigerator itself travels empty and upright, never on its side, and is left for two to four hours after arrival before being switched on so the compressor oil settles. Switching it on the moment it is unloaded is the most common and most expensive damage to refrigerator compressors in a move.
We also sequence the job so the medicines room is the last area emptied at the old site and the first installed at the new one, which keeps the interval between disconnection and power-up as short as possible.
Emptied before the move
Contents travel in the clinic's cool boxes, not inside the unit.
Carried upright
The refrigerator travels empty and upright at every stage.
Two to four hours
Left to settle before being switched on at the destination.
First to be installed
The medicines room is prioritised to shorten the interval.
Veterinary medical equipment
Precise instruments that need different handling from any domestic appliance.
Imaging, diagnostic, microscope and anaesthetic equipment are calibrated instruments, and a knock can take them out of calibration without leaving a visible mark. The fault is not discovered on moving day but at first use.
So we always prefer to move a device in its original box where it has been kept. Where it has not, we build multi-layer protection: internal foam, then stiff cardboard, then independent securing inside the truck away from heavy furniture.
We ask the clinic to identify which devices need the manufacturer's technician to dismantle or recalibrate them. We do not dismantle those and do not claim to calibrate them; we move them after their own specialist has prepared them.
Every device is photographed before wrapping and its condition recorded, and the record is reviewed with the clinic's representative on arrival before the crew leaves.
Original box first
The best protection for a precise instrument is the packaging designed for it.
Multi-layer build
Foam, then stiff card, then independent securing inside the truck.
Clear boundaries
Devices needing the manufacturer's technician are not dismantled by us.
Kennels, boarding areas and hygiene
Fittings that need a hygienic order of work, not a cosmetic one.
Kennels, metal cages and stainless tables are moved after cleaning and disinfection carried out by the clinic, and we move them clean and wrapped. Moving an uncleaned cage contaminates the rest of the load and the truck with it.
Metal cages are dismantled into panels where the design allows, because moving them assembled consumes roughly three times the space. Each panel is labelled with its unit exactly as we do with shelving.
Stainless examination tables are wrapped completely, because the surface scratches easily and a scratch here is not a cosmetic matter but a hygiene one: a scored surface is harder to disinfect.
We advise the clinic to arrange disinfection of the new premises after installation and before the first case, which is their responsibility rather than part of our service, but noting it in the schedule prevents a clash of appointments.
- Cages moved only after cleaning and disinfection by the clinic
- Metal cages dismantled to panels, saving about two thirds of the space
- Each panel labelled with its unit for fast reassembly
- Stainless tables fully wrapped, because scratches impede disinfection
Prices
Standard bands, with a free survey first.
| Type of move | Price range | Operational note |
|---|---|---|
| Single items / small van (dabab) | SAR 80 – 250 | A few pieces or one room, no full disassembly |
| Studio or single room | SAR 350 – 600 | Bed and small wardrobe disassembly, basic wrapping |
| Two-bedroom apartment | SAR 500 – 900 | The most common booking in Jeddah |
| Three-bedroom apartment | SAR 800 – 1,400 | Larger crew, longer loading window |
| Four to five bedrooms | SAR 1,200 – 1,900 | Usually a full working day |
| Small villa | SAR 1,500 – 2,500 | Floor-to-floor movement and heavy disassembly |
| Large villa | SAR 2,500 – 4,000 | More than one truck and an extended crew |
For clinics the measures are volume and sensitivity rather than room count. Precise instruments may need independent securing that reduces truck capacity, and that is stated in the written quote after the survey.

Disassembly and assembly
Separate from the move itself.
| Item | Price |
|---|---|
| Full bedroom set | SAR 150 – 300 |
| Sliding or IKEA wardrobe | SAR 100 – 250 |
| Aluminium kitchen | SAR 200 – 400 |
| Whole-apartment package | SAR 400 – 900 |
This covers office furniture, cabinets and shelving. It does not cover devices that require the manufacturer's own technician.
See disassembly and assembly for the scope of each package.
Sequencing the day to shorten closure
A clinic is an operating business, and every closed day is a loss.
We sequence the work so part of the clinic can keep operating as long as the space allows, or compress the whole move into a weekend where closure is unavoidable.
The preferred order is reception and office furniture first, then consulting rooms and equipment, then the medicines room last. At the destination the order is exactly reversed.
That sequence is agreed in writing before we begin, because changing it mid-day means rearranging the load inside the truck, which is time lost outright.
From a villa to a retail unit, or the other way
The most common relocation pattern in this sector.
Many veterinary clinics start on a ground floor or in a small villa and move into a unit in a commercial complex as they grow, or do the reverse in search of more space at lower cost. Each direction has its own constraints.
Moving into a commercial complex means dealing with the building management: fixed moving hours usually after the shops close, a goods lift that may be shared with other units, and corridors that will not take large assembled items. So we dismantle everything that can be dismantled before arrival rather than after.
Moving from a complex into a villa is easier logistically but needs attention to internal door and stair widths, because many residential villas were never designed to receive examination tables and large cages.
In both directions we measure the three largest items against the narrowest passage at the destination before the appointment, because that single measurement determines whether extra dismantling or an alternative route is needed.
- Complexes: fixed hours and a shared goods lift
- Dismantle before arrival, not after, for complex moves
- Villas: check internal door and stair widths
- Measure the three largest items against the narrowest passage
Temporary storage
When the new premises are delayed.
| Volume | Monthly storage |
|---|---|
| One to two rooms | SAR 150 – 300 per month |
| Full apartment contents | SAR 250 – 450 per month |
| Villa contents | SAR 400 – 800 per month |
Storage includes wrapping and stacking in the warehouse. Medicines and vaccines are not stored by us and are entirely outside this service.
We repeat that for clarity: our storage covers furniture and equipment that is not temperature-sensitive. Details on furniture storage.

Veterinary clinic relocation questions
Direct answers for clinic managers.
No. Our service covers furniture, equipment and contents only. Relocating the animals is the clinic's responsibility by dedicated means, entirely separate from a furniture truck.
The contents are transferred into cool boxes supplied by the clinic, which monitors their temperature. The unit travels empty and upright and is left two to four hours before being switched on.
Because during the move it is disconnected from power and cannot hold temperature, and responsibility for a pharmaceutical cold chain sits with the medical party.
We dismantle furniture, shelving and cabinets. Devices needing the manufacturer's technician to dismantle or recalibrate are moved after that specialist has prepared them.
In their original box where available, otherwise multi-layer protection and independent securing in the truck away from heavy furniture, with a photographic record before wrapping.
Yes, after cleaning and disinfection by the clinic, dismantled into panels where the design allows to save about two thirds of the space, with each panel labelled.
It depends on volume. We sequence to shorten it: reception first, then consulting rooms, then the medicines room last, with the order reversed at the destination.
No. Our storage covers furniture and equipment that is not temperature-sensitive, and never medicines or vaccines.
It is set after a free survey based on volume and the number of sensitive devices, starting from our standard volume bands, and written down before the work.
