Van Moving Services in Al Falah, Jeddah
Most van bookings in Al Falah are appliances: a fridge, a washing machine, a freezer, an air conditioner. Rates start at SAR 80. The difference between a move that works and one that kills the appliance is a set of steps taken before loading, not on the road.
Buying appliances after you arrive: delivery, carry-up and fitting
Unfurnished leases are common in this part of Jeddah, and the first month is usually spent buying the big white goods.
A large retailer will deliver to the building door. What often does not happen is the carry up the stairs, the positioning, the levelling and the connection, and that gap is where most new arrivals get stuck with a fridge standing in a stairwell.
We take that job as a single booking: collect from the store or meet the delivery, carry up, place, level and connect, and take the packaging away. It is quoted as one written price before anything moves, and it is almost always a van job rather than a truck job.
If you are buying several appliances from different shops, buy them for the same day and tell us. One van run collecting from two or three points costs far less than three separate collections, and it is the single easiest saving available to someone setting up a flat.
Why an appliance is not furniture
Most post-move faults are caused by a step skipped beforehand, not by the journey.
A large appliance contains moving parts, fluids and sealed pipework. Handling it like a wooden cabinet is what causes damage. So the work starts the day before the move, not on the morning of it.
Fridges and freezers,Emptied and unplugged early enough to defrost fully and dry inside; door secured; moved upright
undefined
Washing machines,Hose and filter drained, and the drum locked with transit bolts where your model has them
undefined
Ovens and gas hobs,Gas connection disconnected by a qualified person; shelves and grills removed and carried separately
undefined
Air conditioners,Removing both units and handling the refrigerant is separate technical work, not part of a transport price
undefined
And after arrival: fridges and freezers stand upright for a period before being switched on, following the manufacturer instructions for your model. That step costs nothing, is skipped constantly, and is the most common cause of a fault that appears right after a move.
The fridge rule: never on its side
It is asked often, because laying it flat makes loading much easier.
Carrying a fridge or freezer on its side moves the oil in the cooling circuit out of place and can leave you with a unit that will not run properly once reinstalled. We decline to move them that way even when it would be faster and simpler in an open bed.
The alternative is straightforward: upright, pushed against the side of the bed, two straps rather than one, a blanket between the appliance and the wall of the bed, and the door held with tape that leaves no residue. If the unit is too tall to stand safely in the van, the answer is a closed vehicle, not tilting it.
This is one of the few points where we will refuse a customer request outright. The saving from laying it flat is minutes; the cost of being wrong is the price of a new fridge.
Washing machines and transit bolts
The part almost nobody has kept, and what we do instead.
A washing machine drum hangs on springs and dampers. In transit, an unsecured drum swings and can damage the bearings, which is an expensive repair that often shows up weeks later as noise during the spin cycle.
Manufacturers ship machines with transit bolts for exactly this reason. Most people throw them away after installation. If you still have yours, find them before moving day and tell us, because nothing else works as well.
If they are gone, we pack the drum firmly before loading so it cannot swing, and we move the machine upright and strapped. We also drain the hose and the filter first, because residual water in a van on a hot Jeddah day ends up somewhere you do not want it.
Event days at King Abdullah Sports City
Al Falah sits beside the stadium, and that adds one check before any date is fixed.
Al Falah is in east Jeddah, next to King Abdullah Sports City. On match days and during major events, traffic around the district changes and parking a goods vehicle near a building entrance becomes difficult, especially in the hours before and after the event.
So we do not confirm a slot here until we have checked the day is clear. If your preferred date falls on one of those days we offer an alternative or an early-morning start, and we tell you why before you book rather than after.
- Early morning: safe even on an event day
- Ordinary weekdays: the best choice for a full move
- The hours before a major event: avoided
- After an event ends: expect delays leaving the district
- Weekends in event season: usually proposed for another day
The check takes us a minute and saves you an hour of waiting. It is one of the reasons a written price here tends to hold.

Moving one or two appliances falls in the first row. What can be added in Al Falah, always as a named line: air-conditioner removal and refitting, disconnecting a gas hob, or a stair carry where the lift cannot take the unit.
Dismantling rates: SAR 150 to 300 for a bedroom, SAR 100 to 250 for a sliding or flat-pack wardrobe, SAR 200 to 400 for an aluminium kitchen. The survey is free and the written price does not change afterwards without your agreement.
Is a van enough for your job?
In a district where most requests are appliances and single pieces, usually yes.
| Your situation | Van enough? | Better option |
|---|---|---|
| One or two appliances | Yes | — |
| A full set of kitchen appliances | Usually yes | Closed vehicle if exposed glass is involved |
| A dismantled bedroom | Yes | — |
| A whole two-bedroom flat | No | Closed truck and full crew |
| Villa or whole floor | No | Several vehicles, scheduled in advance |
| Appliances plus mirrors and screens | Both together | Appliances on the van, fragile items in a closed vehicle |
Common cases here. Your free survey decides your own.
The useful thing about Al Falah is that a high share of requests sit in the first three rows, genuinely within what a van does well, which makes it one of the cheaper districts for single-item work.
Securing tall items on an open bed
An appliance is heavier and taller than furniture, and it is strapped differently.
An upright appliance has a high centre of gravity, which means it is the first thing to tip under braking or on a bend. It is always braced against the side of the bed on at least one face, and tied with two straps rather than one: one at mid-height, one near the top.
Nothing is ever placed on top of an appliance. The top of a fridge or a washing machine is not a loading surface, and weight on it leaves a permanent dent. If the load needs more room, the answer is a second run or a larger vehicle, not stacking.
A blanket goes between the appliance and any wooden item beside it. Direct contact between a painted metal face and a timber edge will leave a visible scratch even on a short trip.
Unloading order, so your kitchen works the same day
The sequence decides whether you cook that evening or not.
The common mistake is to bring the furniture in first and then try to get three or four large appliances down a corridor already filled with boxes. The right order is the reverse: large appliances in first, placed in their final positions, then everything else.
A large appliance needs a clear run and a turning angle, and that space is the first thing to disappear. We load the van from the start so that the last item in is the first item out.
Before a fridge goes into its slot we check there is clearance behind it for airflow and that the floor is level, because an unlevelled unit vibrates and runs harder. Adjusting the feet takes two minutes at unloading and is awkward once the kitchen is full. A washing machine should not be left to run its first full cycle unattended either; watch a short cycle and confirm the water connection is not leaking.
What we can be responsible for, and what we cannot
Plain limits rather than a blanket guarantee.
Any company promising that your appliance will not fail after a move is overstating things. What can be guaranteed is the method: that it travelled upright, that the drum was secured, that nothing was stacked on it, and that it was handed over visibly intact in front of you.
So we ask for two small things that protect both sides. Inspect the appliance with us before loading, so any existing mark or fault is recorded beforehand. Inspect it again at unloading, before the crew leaves. A fault that appears at unloading can fairly be linked to the move. One that appears a week into use cannot.
If an appliance is old or already showing a problem, we will say so before we touch it rather than discover it together afterwards. That minute of candour prevents the entire argument.

Air conditioning is the technical line most often booked alongside appliances, and dismantling work generally is covered in dismantling and reassembly. Where a lift cannot take a large unit, moving without a lift explains how the stair carry is measured and priced.
