Salon and spa movers in Jeddah
Relocating a salon is not a furniture move. It is relocating a working business: large mirrors, wash units plumbed into the drain, delicate equipment and retail stock. Every extra closed day is lost revenue. Wathab works to the shortest possible closure window, at a written price after a free survey.
Why a salon move is not a home move
A household moves once and sorts itself out gradually. A commercial unit has no such luxury: clients hold appointments, products have shelf lives, and rent runs on both addresses during the overlap. Success here is measured in hours of downtime, not in items carried.
The contents are also mixed in a way homes are not: heavy pieces fixed to floors or walls, sensitive electrical equipment, large glass, and liquid stock. Each of those needs a different method, and none of them can be loaded the same way.
Then there is the setup at the far end. A salon does not open when the furniture arrives; it opens when the units are installed, the water and power are connected and the stations are laid out. Planning the move without planning the installation costs a full extra day.
Working to a short closure window
The sequence that keeps lost trading days to a minimum
The aim is to close at the last possible moment and reopen at the earliest. This is the plan we agree with the owner before the date:
Photographic inventory a week out
We walk the premises and photograph stations, equipment and stock, deciding what moves, what is replaced and what is disposed of — a relocation is a good moment to shed what is no longer used.
Set out the new unit first
Measure the space and mark the position of every station, unit and mirror on a simple plan before moving day, so nothing is decided while unloading.
Pre-pack stock and tools
Products and small tools can be boxed a day or two early without interrupting trade, and that alone removes about a third of the work.
Dismantle and move in the window
Overnight or on the closing day: units and mirrors come down, the load goes out, and items are unloaded straight to their marked positions.
Install and test
Units and mirrors refitted and equipment tested before the crew leaves, so no fault is discovered on the first trading day.
Mirrors and glass: the highest-risk items
Large mirrors are the most expensive thing to replace and the easiest thing to break. Our rule is that a mirror is never moved the way the rest of the furniture is moved.
Off the mount, not with it
Separating the mirror from its unit reduces weight and bulk and prevents the flexing that cracks glass.
Cross-taped face
Tape is applied across the face before wrapping, so a break cannot scatter.
Foam then double card
A shock-absorbing layer and then a rigid one, rather than card straight onto bare glass.
Upright and strapped
Mirrors travel upright against the side of the truck between soft items, with nothing loaded on top of them.
Indicative prices by load size
Published rates; the final figure is written after a survey of the premises
| Load size | Indicative price |
|---|---|
| Pickup load (small van) | 80 – 250 |
| Studio / single room | 350 – 600 |
| Two-bedroom apartment | 500 – 900 |
| Three-bedroom apartment | 800 – 1,400 |
| Four to five bedrooms | 1,200 – 1,900 |
| Small villa | 1,500 – 2,500 |
| Large villa | 2,500 – 4,000 |
A commercial unit is priced by its equivalent load size: a small salon is close to a two or three-bedroom apartment, while a large multi-station spa is closer to a big apartment or a small villa. The exact band is set during the free survey.
Dismantling and installation inside the unit
There is more joinery in a salon than in a home: units fixed to walls, shelving, work surfaces and mounted mirrors. A specialist joiner handles it at published rates.
| Work | Price |
|---|---|
| Unit or sliding cabinet | 100 – 250 |
| Aluminium unit, kitchen-sized | 200 – 400 |
| Full room or section with furniture | 150 – 300 |
| Complete package for the premises | 400 – 900 |
Final electrical and plumbing connections are a technician’s job. We dismantle, wrap, move and reinstall the structure, units and mirrors.
Wash units plumbed into the drain
Wash basins are the only pieces in a salon connected to the water and waste system, and disconnecting them takes planning rather than force. The common mistake is leaving it until the day, after loading has already started, so one item holds up everything.
- Isolate the main water supply well ahead of time and drain the hoses.
- Disconnect supply and waste hoses and seal both ends to stop residual water escaping.
- Separate the basin from its base where it is removable, since moving the unit whole increases the risk of cracking the ceramic.
- Wrap the basin on its own — after mirrors, it is the most frequently broken item in salon moves.
- Confirm the water and drain points at the new unit are ready and compatible before the move, not after.
Stock and product handling
Stock is the most neglected part of a salon move, and the loss usually surfaces days later when one container has leaked over the others.
- Separate liquids from powders from tools, each in its own numbered cartons.
- Keep liquid containers upright, caps tightened, with an inner liner in the carton as a second line of defence.
- Move heat-sensitive products last and keep their time outside air conditioning as short as possible.
- Photograph the stock list before the move — it is the easiest way to spot anything missing afterwards.
- Dispose of expired or near-expired stock before moving it, since transporting it is cost without return.
Temporary storage during fit-out
| Load size | Per month |
|---|---|
| One to two rooms | 150 – 300 |
| Full apartment | 250 – 450 |
| Villa-sized load | 400 – 800 |
Part of the contents can be stored and the rest collected gradually as the fit-out progresses.
It is common for the lease on the old unit to end before the new interior is finished. Storage is far cheaper than extending a commercial lease by another month.
Preparing the new unit before the truck arrives
What stretches a salon move is not carrying, it is hesitation during unloading. Every decision deferred to the moment of arrival costs a quarter of an hour of a full crew. We ask for the layout to be settled at least a day ahead.
- A simple plan of the new unit marking every station, cabinet and mirror — a hand drawing is enough.
- Confirmation that power outlets and drainage exist where you intend to place things.
- The new unit cleaned before arrival, because cleaning around installed furniture is close to impossible.
- A temporary area set aside for cartons and stock, clear of the working route.
- Door and lift dimensions checked if the unit is on an upper floor.
