Moving from Jeddah to Rabigh
A short northern route: most jobs finish in one day. One crew, a written price, and real experience with staff housing and gated compounds.
Rabigh: a close destination north of Jeddah
Proximity is the key operational advantage here.
Rabigh is a coastal governorate in the Makkah region, north of Jeddah on the Red Sea, served by the northern coastal road. It is among the closest destinations we serve outside Jeddah itself.
Proximity means three practical things: most jobs can be completed in a single day without an overnight stay, a second trip on the same day is feasible if the load exceeds one truck, and rescheduling is easier if the destination handover slips.
Even so, Rabigh remains a move between two cities rather than a hop between districts, and it is executed to the same intercity standards: closed box, strapped load, documented fragile items and a written quote before departure.
We also distinguish clearly between moving into Rabigh city itself and moving into the compounds and newer plans around it, because access and permissions differ between the two.
- Coastal governorate in the Makkah region, north of Jeddah
- Among the closest destinations outside the city
- Most jobs finish in one day, with a same-day second trip if needed
- Intercity standards still apply despite the short distance
Staff housing and gated compounds: a different arrangement
A large share of Rabigh requests are of this kind.
Moving into staff housing or a gated compound is nothing like moving into an independent house. There is a management that controls entry, permitted hours for moving, service lifts that may differ from resident lifts, and sometimes a requirement to bring the truck through a specific gate.
So before the appointment we ask the customer to confirm three points with the management: whether the truck needs advance permission to enter, which hours moving is permitted, and whether there is a dedicated service lift or whether the stairs must be used.
Answering those before departure saves real hours. A crew arriving at a closed gate waits, and waiting at a destination outside the city is charged against the whole day.
On the other hand, organised compounds are often easier than loosely planned districts, because routes are clear, parking is defined and there are no surprises about street width.
Entry permission
Confirmed in advance for the truck at the compound gate.
Permitted hours
Many compounds set moving windows; we plan around them.
Service lift
Knowing whether it is a dedicated lift or the stairs changes the plan.
One-day moves: when they work and when they do not
A realistic promise rather than a sales promise.
Most Rabigh jobs can be done in a day: morning loading in Jeddah, transit, then unloading and assembly the same day. That holds even for a three-bedroom apartment if the crew starts early and the disassembly load is normal.
Three things make a single day unrealistic: a full villa whose contents exceed one truck, a high floor with no lift at both ends, or a destination inside a compound that only permits moving within a narrow window.
In those cases we propose one of two options: splitting the work across two days on a schedule agreed in advance, or full loading on day one and assembly the following morning. The second is better for assembly quality, because it is not done under time pressure.
Whichever option is agreed goes into the written quote, so there is never a gap between what was promised and what was delivered.
Morning loading
An early start in Jeddah is the condition for a single day.
Direct transit
One trip with a volume fixed at survey stage.
Same-day assembly
Where volume and destination restrictions allow.
Or a declared split
Two days on a written schedule instead of an unrealistic promise.
Prices from Jeddah to Rabigh
Standard bands, with the quote set after the survey.
| Type of move | Price range | Operational note |
|---|---|---|
| Single items / small van (dabab) | SAR 80 – 250 | A few pieces or one room, no full disassembly |
| Studio or single room | SAR 350 – 600 | Bed and small wardrobe disassembly, basic wrapping |
| Two-bedroom apartment | SAR 500 – 900 | The most common booking in Jeddah |
| Three-bedroom apartment | SAR 800 – 1,400 | Larger crew, longer loading window |
| Four to five bedrooms | SAR 1,200 – 1,900 | Usually a full working day |
| Small villa | SAR 1,500 – 2,500 | Floor-to-floor movement and heavy disassembly |
| Large villa | SAR 2,500 – 4,000 | More than one truck and an extended crew |
Rabigh's proximity means most jobs stay within a single trip, which keeps the cost close to in-city bands. The final quote follows the free survey and is written before the work.
See the full price list for every service band.
Disassembly and assembly at both ends
Separate line items in the same agreement.
| Item | Price |
|---|---|
| Full bedroom set | SAR 150 – 300 |
| Sliding or IKEA wardrobe | SAR 100 – 250 |
| Aluminium kitchen | SAR 200 – 400 |
| Whole-apartment package | SAR 400 – 900 |
On staff-housing jobs specifically, assembly alone is a frequent request, because the furniture is often new and delivered straight from a showroom.
See disassembly and assembly for the scope of each package.
Packing for a short northern run
A protection level matched to the distance, no more and no less.
We reject two opposite habits: under-packing because the distance is short, and over-packing that raises the cost without benefit. Rabigh is a relatively short run on a flat coastal road, and the risks are limited and well understood.
What we always do: blankets and straps on every wooden piece, bubble wrap on glass and mirrors carried upright, bags for soft furnishings, and drawers emptied and taped shut. For this distance that is entirely sufficient.
What we only do on request: full boxing of every household item. That is an expensive line that suits very long journeys or extended storage, and a customer moving to Rabigh in a single day does not need it.
- Blankets and straps on every wooden piece
- Bubble wrap on glass and mirrors, carried upright
- Drawers emptied and taped shut before loading
- Full boxing only on request, not by default
The reverse direction: Rabigh to Jeddah
A frequent request with a known sequence.
We run the route both ways on the same bands. A move from Rabigh to Jeddah is usually priced from photographs and a precise description over WhatsApp, with the quote confirmed in writing before the crew sets off.
The thing we flag most in that direction is preparation in Jeddah: parking for the truck, the state of the lift in the new building, and whether the building permits moving at the requested hour. Those three decide how long the day runs.
Anyone relocating for work in Jeddah before their flat is ready can store with us and collect on handover, which is cheaper than two separate moves.
Storage as a middle option
For dates that do not line up.
| Volume | Monthly storage |
|---|---|
| One to two rooms | SAR 150 – 300 per month |
| Full apartment contents | SAR 250 – 450 per month |
| Villa contents | SAR 400 – 800 per month |
Storage includes wrapping and stacking inside the warehouse, with transport to and from the warehouse charged as a separate move.

Weekends and peak seasons
Timing changes the duration more than the price.
The northern road between Jeddah and Rabigh carries heavier traffic at weekends and during holiday and Umrah seasons. That does not raise our price, but it lengthens the journey and reduces the chance of finishing in one day.
So where you can choose your day, we recommend an ordinary working day with an early departure. Where only a weekend works, we plan on two days instead of one and write that into the quote from the start.
This is not an operational preference but a protection of quality: assembly at the end of a long day is not the same as assembly at the start of one, and the difference shows weeks later in how wardrobes sit and drawers close.
- Weekends and seasons lengthen the journey, not the price
- An ordinary weekday with an early start is the best option
- If not possible, we plan two days and state it in the quote
- Book earlier in peak seasons, because crew availability is the constraint
