Furniture Moving in Al Mraykh, Jeddah
Apartment blocks, shared lifts and tight parking. A crew that gets your furniture out of Al Mraykh quickly and without a dispute with the neighbours.
Al Mraykh is an apartment district first
The housing type decides how the day runs.
Al Mraykh is listed by Saudi property portals within the northern Jeddah zone, and Buraydah Street is one of its known roads. What stands out in the local listings is that this is an apartment and studio district rather than a villa district, and that single fact changes every assumption about a moving day.
In a villa district the main constraint is internal movement between floors and sheer item count. In an apartment district like Al Mraykh the constraint is different: one lift shared by an entire building, limited frontage parking, relatively narrow stairs, and neighbours using the same corridor at the same time.
So we do not only ask how many rooms. We ask which floor, whether the lift takes a dismantled wardrobe, and whether the building has dedicated or shared parking. The plan for the whole day is built from those three answers.
- Mostly apartments and studios, not villas
- Buraydah Street among the district's known roads
- Shared lifts and limited frontage parking in many buildings
- Frequent moves between buildings within the district at lease end
Rugs, carpet and heavy soft furnishings: the forgotten line
Items that are not counted as furniture and still take more space than a wardrobe.
Large rugs, laid carpet and thick foam mattresses are the items most often left out when a customer asks for a quote, and they become the surprise on moving day. One large rug can occupy truck space equal to a small wardrobe, and rolling it needs two people and a clear stretch of floor.
Rugs are rolled, never folded. Folding leaves permanent lines in the pile and cracks the rubber backing used on most modern rugs. We roll from one end, strap twice, and lay the roll along the side of the truck rather than underneath other items.
Mattresses get a third treatment: a dedicated bag, carried and loaded on edge. Laid flat under other items, the springs compress and keep a dent. Fitted carpet is not lifted unless you specifically ask, because removing it is work separate from the move.
Roll, never fold
Rugs are rolled from one end and strapped at least twice.
Bagged mattresses
A dedicated bag each, loaded on edge rather than flat.
Side loading
Rugs and mattresses go along the side, never under heavy items.
Fitted carpet
Only lifted on explicit request, and priced as separate work.
Shared parking and one lift: running the day without a dispute
Moving in a residential block is a group activity whether you like it or not.
The biggest cause of delay in an apartment move is not the furniture, it is waiting for the lift. Where there is only one, occupying it for two solid hours creates a problem with the other residents, and the work can stop entirely if someone complains to the building caretaker.
We split the flow instead. Boxes and small items go down the stairs in parallel, and the lift is reserved for large pieces in short repeated waves rather than being held continuously. That turns two unbroken hours of disruption into a few scattered minutes.
Shared parking is handled by planning: we pick a slot in the quieter part of the day where possible, and we position the truck so it does not block anyone in. A car trapped behind the truck means the work stops until its owner appears.
Short waves
The lift carries large pieces in repeated short runs, never held continuously.
Parallel route
Boxes and small items go down the stairs at the same time.
Nobody blocked in
The truck never parks across an exit someone may suddenly need.
Moving prices in Al Mraykh
The same national bands, with no district-specific pricing.
| Type of move | Price range | Operational note |
|---|---|---|
| Single items / small van (dabab) | SAR 80 – 250 | A few pieces or one room, no full disassembly |
| Studio or single room | SAR 350 – 600 | Bed and small wardrobe disassembly, basic wrapping |
| Two-bedroom apartment | SAR 500 – 900 | The most common booking in Jeddah |
| Three-bedroom apartment | SAR 800 – 1,400 | Larger crew, longer loading window |
| Four to five bedrooms | SAR 1,200 – 1,900 | Usually a full working day |
| Small villa | SAR 1,500 – 2,500 | Floor-to-floor movement and heavy disassembly |
| Large villa | SAR 2,500 – 4,000 | More than one truck and an extended crew |
Because small apartments dominate here, the studio band and the two-bedroom band are the most requested. The price is written down after the free survey and does not change afterwards.
Full details of every service band are on the Jeddah moving prices page.
Disassembly and assembly in Al Mraykh flats
Separate pricing, bookable on its own.
| Item | Price |
|---|---|
| Full bedroom set | SAR 150 – 300 |
| Sliding or IKEA wardrobe | SAR 100 – 250 |
| Aluminium kitchen | SAR 200 – 400 |
| Whole-apartment package | SAR 400 – 900 |
In smaller flats the sliding wardrobe is the critical piece: opened with the wrong tool, the track breaks and reassembly becomes impossible without a replacement part.
See the disassembly and assembly page for scope and timings.

Several hours ahead, so it is not switched on the moment it arrives.
Clear the corridor
Rugs and chairs off the carrying route before the appointment.
Common mistakes in small-apartment moves
Three that come up in Al Mraykh more than anywhere else.
The first is assuming a small flat automatically means a fast move. Small floor area usually means denser storage: wardrobes packed to the ceiling, boxes on top of them, and things under the bed. The volume tracks years of living there, not square metres.
The second is leaving sorting to the last moment. In small flats a large share of the contents has not been used in years, and moving it costs money for nothing. An hour of sorting beforehand can save a whole pricing band.
The third is not measuring the new doorway. Many smaller flats have narrower-than-standard doors, and a wardrobe that came out of one flat may not go into another. Measuring beforehand settles the decision: dismantle to panels, or replace.
- Small floor area does not mean small volume
- An hour of sorting can save a whole pricing band
- Measure the new flat's door width before the day
- Decide early: dismantle to panels or replace
Moving within Al Mraykh at the end of a lease
Common in a district of rented apartments.
Many Al Mraykh moves happen inside the district when a lease ends, with the new flat nearby. The real challenge is timing rather than distance: the old flat has to be handed back while the new one may not be ready.
We handle that with a simple sequence. Full load in the morning, then either direct unloading if the destination is ready, or one or more nights in the warehouse if it is not. The second option costs far less than postponing the move and paying another month of rent.
| Volume | Monthly storage |
|---|---|
| One to two rooms | SAR 150 – 300 per month |
| Full apartment contents | SAR 250 – 450 per month |
| Villa contents | SAR 400 – 800 per month |
Storage includes wrapping and stacking. Transport to and from the warehouse is charged as a separate move.

How long a move in Al Mraykh takes
A realistic estimate so you can plan the day.
Time in an apartment district comes from three things: dismantling inside the flat, going up and down, and reassembly at the destination. Travel time inside one city is rarely a large share of the day.
In practice, a studio on a low floor with a lift takes three to four hours including assembly. A two-bedroom flat on a middle floor takes five to seven. A three-bedroom flat on a high floor with no lift can take a full day, and splitting it over two days is sometimes cheaper than paying for extra hours.
We prefer an early start for two reasons: the lift is quieter, and the heat is lower on both the crew and on wooden furniture sitting in a closed truck. If mornings are impossible, late afternoon is the better alternative to midday.
- Studio with lift: 3 to 4 hours including assembly
- Two-bedroom on a middle floor: 5 to 7 hours
- Three bedrooms with no lift: a full day, or split over two
- Early start preferred, late afternoon as the fallback

Al Mraykh moving questions
What residents actually ask before booking.
The studio or single-room band is SAR 350 to 600, including bed and small wardrobe disassembly and basic wrapping.
Yes, but they must be mentioned at survey stage because one large rug takes truck space equal to a small wardrobe. Omitting them is the main cause of disputes on the day.
Folding leaves permanent lines in the pile and cracks the rubber backing used on modern rugs. Rolling preserves the shape.
Large pieces go up and down in short repeated waves while boxes take the stairs in parallel, so other residents are not blocked for hours.
Lifting fitted carpet is work separate from the move. We only do it on explicit request and price it separately.
We can load and keep your contents in the warehouse for one or more nights, which costs far less than postponing and paying another month of rent.
Yes. Each gets a dedicated bag and travels on edge, because lying flat under heavier items compresses the springs and leaves a dent.
No. There is no district pricing. What moves the figure inside a band is the floor, the absence of a lift, and the carry distance.
Not formal permission, but telling them in advance saves time and prevents an objection in the middle of the work.
Send photos of each room on WhatsApp or book a free survey, and you receive a written itemised price before any work begins.
